SCP: Containment Breach is an indie psychological horror video game by Finnish game developer Regalis based on the stories of the SCP Foundation website.

The player guides a test subject, D-9341, through many obstacles inside of a randomly-generated facility belonging to the SCP Foundation.
[1]Gameplay
[edit]

The game's primary mechanic is the Blink meter, which displays the amount of time until the player must blink - the primary antagonist, SCP-173, is a hostile statue which instantly kills anyone it encounters but is unable to move under a direct line of sight.[2] The second main enemy, SCP-106, can pass through solid matter and attacks by sending the player to a "pocket dimension". Version 0.6 saw the addition of SCP-096, a normally docile humanoid that will kill the player if they make eye contact with its face. Version 0.7 saw the additions of five new SCP's, SCP-008 (The Zombie Plague), SCP-012 (A Bad Composition), SCP-049 (The Plague Doctor), SCP-500-01 (Panacea), SCP-1025 (The Encyclopedia of Diseases) and SCP-714 (The Jaded Ring) along with a better organization given the new "zones".
Some enemies, such as SCP-372 ("Peripheral Jumper"), cannot kill the player, but serve to hinder them. Regalis (the game's creator) has confirmed that more SCPs, including SCP 860 (a key which unlocks a door to a parallel universe) and SCP-682 (an invulnerable reptilian creature), will be added to the game later.

Plot[edit]

The player takes on the role of D-9341, an unwilling test subject for the SCP Foundation, a group dedicated to the containment and research of anomalous artifacts and lifeforms. D-9341 is assigned to testing with SCP-173. During the test, a containment breach occurs, and the site's security is compromised, releasing various deadly beings. Alone in the darkness, D-9341's new objective is to survive and escape. This is made difficult by SCP-173, as well as several other objects, including SCP-106, a rotting old man that chases players and SCP-914, an extremely complex piece of machinery that refines items. Also, SCP-079, an AI who is determined to take over the facility, is detrimental to the player's escape later in the game.
After exploring the facility, D-9341 is able to survive long enough to reach the site's electrical room, where he disables the AI's ability to control the site's doors. He then uses a found keycard to access the AI's containment chamber. SCP-079 states that D-9341 needs its help, and it needs his; the AI reminds the D-Class that his only possible escape route is locked, and only SCP-079 can open the doors, something it is now unable to do, meaning it cannot maintain control over the facility. It then offers D-9341 an ultimatum - return the control of the site's doors to it, or die trapped in the facility. The player's ending will depend on their choices in the game, as well as upon which of the facility's three exits they choose to utilize. In 0.5, D-9341 is now capable of making it to Gate B, an exit of the facility, where the player can escape. Moments after escaping the facility, a voice on the intercom informs the facility that SCP-682, a hostile reptilian creature capable of reactive adaption and rapid self-regeneration, has broken free, and the entire facility has 90 seconds to hide in a blast-resistant area of the facility, or try to board one of the helicopters before the entire area is bombed. However, shortly after walking outside, helicopters will fly overhead, one of which is grabbed by a massive claw of SCP-682 and destroyed. D-9341 does not survive either of the 2 Gate-B endings.
Another ending in SCP Containment Breach is the Gate A ending, which is the "good" ending. Gate A is much more heavily guarded, having many guards and 3 helicopters in the way of the player. When D-9341 enters, the intercom will announce that SCP-106 breached containment. SCP-106 will then proceed to walk across a bridge in Gate A. When this occurs, the H.I.D. (High Intensity Discharge) turret will send a high amount of light at SCP-106, successfully sending it back to its pocket dimension. If the player has not reached their destination, the guards and helicopters will then proceed to try to kill the player. When the player reaches a tunnel, they will be greeted by 3 shadowy figures, which are suspected to be The Chaos Insurgency, and will then be taken away by them.
